FURRIES

Small furries such as rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, rats, mice, gerbils and hamsters are very cute and, with the right care, can be very cuddly but they have complex needs. The food you feed your small furry pet is the single most important thing you can do for their health, happiness and wellbeing so read Feeding Your Small Furry Pet , which gives you information about their nutritional needs, what’s in their pet food and how much you should feed them.

Whilst the Small Furries are grouped together by their shared characteristics (i.e. being small and furry!), they very much have their own personalities and needs.

Rabbits are active and sociable animals but they can also be shy and nervous. Go to our Rabbit section if you want useful information on feeding, homing and caring for your rabbit. Take our rabbit quiz to check you are meeting your rabbit’s needs and use our Rabbit Size-O-Meter to ensure your rabbit’s is a healthy size.

Guinea pigs are sociable, inquisitive and affectionate but they need lots of stimulation and the right environment to thrive. Go to our Guinea Pigs section for information on nutritional needs and feeding advice. More information is being compiled so keep checking this page.

Hamsters, gerbils, chinchillas, mice and rats all make excellent pets so we are updating our resources on these animals, watch this space...
